In general, homes in northern Arizona are taking 3-4 months to sell, but overall sales increased slightly in 2009. Prices continued to drop in 2009. The good news for buyers is that the days of multiple, competing offers are gone.

The average sales price for a single family home increased from about $180,000 in 1999 to $420,000 in 2006 and then began to drop in 2007. The average sales price in 2009 dropped to $338,452.

The average days on market for single family homes increased to 140 in 2009, up from 126 days in 2008.

Number of Single Family Homes Sold by Year in Northern Arizona

More single family homes sold in 2009 (883) than in 2008 (817). Buyers are still enjoying access to a larger inventory of properties than they had several years ago.
