Information about mortgages
Simply put, a mortgage is a loan that a homebuyer obtains directly from a lender to purchase real estate. It’s not just a one-time signing of documents, a handshake, and a check; you will be depending on your lender to provide many continuing services. Mary Monday team members are familiar with lenders and can give you sound advice about their reputation, qualifying procedures, and the unique programs and benefits they offer homebuyers. Talk to us about the lenders you have in mind.
When applying for a mortgage, you’ll need to provide your lender with a few pieces of information:
- The name and social security number of each applicant
- Your current address and phone number
- Your monthly salary and any other sources of income (including child support or alimony)
- Your length of employment, along with your employer’s address and phone number

What is title insurance… and why do you need it?
Fire insurance protects you against losses from fire. Collision insurance guards you against the cost of a damaged car. Title insurance protects your title to real estate that you are about to acquire. It assures that every possible cloud on the title to the land you are buying — which can be discovered from the public records — has been called to your attention so that such defects can be corrected before you buy.
