Real Estate Sales Are No Longer Local
Not too long ago, when someone put their home on the market they could expect that only local realtors would bring potential buyers to see it. That is no longer the case. Today more and more Phoenix area agents are driving to northern Arizona to show properties to their buyers.
There are several reasons why this is happening. At the top of the list is access to information. Many properties being marketed in northern Arizona are now included in the Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service (ARMLS). ARMLS is a huge database that includes real estate listings from all over the state. At last check, there were over 200 northern Arizona listings in ARMLS. With Internet access to this information, a number of Valley Realtors® feel that it is worth their time to explore our market.
Because of the increase in values and high number of sales in our market over the past few years, there have been a number of offices and agents from Valley cities that have joined the Northern Arizona Association of Realtors. With this membership, they have access to all the local listings in the northern Arizona MLS.
Another reason is that it seems that the time required to make the trip between Phoenix and Flagstaff is not an issue. As Valley cities move northward, the time it takes to make the trip up the hill decreases and makes the trip more feasible.
What does this mean to you the consumer? As prices level and competition increases among sellers, the more agents bringing clients to view your home increases the chance that a qualified buyer will be showing up on your doorstep.
